Marcus Scheuren, Administrator at the Secretariat of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, European Parliament will lead us through the latest development in EU Tax Policies and Initiatives, including the European Parliament's role in such files.

Marcus Scheuren, a German and British national, works in the secretariat of the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee since 2011, where his primary focus is on EU tax policies and on financial crime (anti-money laundering, market abuse). He also worked for the European Parliament's Special Committee on Tax Rulings (TAXE) in 2015, set up in response to the LuxLeaks revelations; and the Committee of Inquiry into Money Laundering, Tax Avoidance and Tax Evasion (PANA), which was set up following the Panama Papers revelations, and which just delivered its final report (to be voted in the European Parliament's plenary in December 2017). Marcus graduated in business administration at the University of Bayreuth/ Germany, and at the EDHEC Business School (École des hautes études commerciales du nord) in Nice, France.
